Facebook app is looking for a brand leader with proven experience of establishing and growing brands. We are looking for someone who is both humble and inspiring - able to unlock the human and cultural story behind every data point, challenge assumptions and inspire creatives and product teams to develop impactful marketing strategies in service to people and the core belief that they can do more together than alone. Partnering closely with the Creative, Integrated, and Product Marketing teams, this role will develop global standards to define the Facebook app brand as it continues to grow and evolve. In this role, you will lead the Brand Strategy team, cultivating a brand first, outcome driven culture. To be successful, you need to embrace the hacker ethos: an ability to move fast, iterate and always be adding value. The successful candidate will need to be tenacious and open, creative and analytical. This person must be able to connect the dots between the business and product strategy with the brand strategy, extract true insights and translate into inspiring briefs that spark world class creative. They must have a proven ability to use data to identify insights and build compelling stories, ask and answer different and difficult questions, inspire and support teams with data, evaluate work, learn and adapt quickly.

Director, Brand Strategy, Facebook App Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand a nimble team of brand strategists and partner with marketing managers around the world
  • Establish and evolve the brand strategy and positioning for Facebook app’s products, within the brand and across the Facebook company
  • Become an expert of Facebook app’s products and audience
  • Be the brand evangelist and influence company leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring brand strategy is reflected in work and activities
  • Collaborate with our internal insights team and external partners to design and analyze research
  • Understand and contextualize technological and market trends and audience behavior to inform strategy and creative development
  • Capture and bring to life human insights that champion our community to inform creative briefs
  • Deliver creative briefings, collaborating with and supporting creative teams throughout the process
  • Drive and apply strategy across diverse, concurrent campaigns and partnerships
  • Collaborate and support creative teams before and after the briefing
  • Partner with product and design leadership to drive the integration of a holistic brand strategy

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of experience with team leadership, team building, or team management
  • 15+ years of experience as a brand planner or strategist at a brand or creative agency, consultancy or internal brand-based team
  • 5+ years brand strategy leadership experience
  • Experience building and evolving brand strategies and architectures
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing on global brand strategies
  • Experience translating insights, ideas, and data into customer value
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization and build influential and collaborative relationships
  • Proven experience developing, and establishing executive alignment on, short and long-term strategies

  • Combined in-house and agency experience
  • Experience working in the tech sector
  • Experience in entrepreneurial and fast-paced environments
  • Experience working with global consumer brands in a marketing capacity
  • International experience and experience with diverse cultural, social and business landscapes
  • Collaborative, creative, and analytical
  • Driven to connect brands and people
