Criminal Investigator / Special Agent 19518 /careers/opportunities/support-professional/criminal-investigator-special-agent.html Add to Job Cart Remove From Cart 19518 Work Schedule: Full Time Salary: $53,435 – $141,555* Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area *Higher starting salary possible depending on experience level The CIA Office of Inspector General (OIG) is recruiting qualified individuals as Criminal Investigators/Special Agents. The OIG is a statutorily independent component of the CIA which conducts investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and wrongdoing involving the CIA's personnel, programs, and operations. These may include alleged violations of Federal criminal statutes, as well as regulatory or administrative issues. OIG Special Agents work independently or as members of teams conducting interviews, administering oaths, gathering evidence, analyzing records and data, preparing reports, and providing testimony in legal and administrative proceedings. OIG investigators frequently interact with all levels of CIA employees and contractors, as well as with other law enforcement agencies, Inspectors General, and the Department of Justice. OIG Special Agents carry a special position of trust and are expected to conduct themselves and their investigations in accordance with standards set forth in the Attorney General Guidelines and the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency. Position duties are similar to OPM's job series position; however, Federal law enforcement retirement and Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) is not provided. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university At least three years of Federal criminal and/or counterintelligence investigative experience Ability to analyze facts and communicate clearly both orally and in writing Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a broad cross-section of society, sometimes under stressful conditions Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed Graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's (FLETC) Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP), other Federal equivalent, or ability to attend and successfully complete CITP. CITP is a physically demanding and academically rigorous 12 week training program conducted at FLETC's facility in Glynco, GA. Applicants requiring CITP should familiarize themselves with the program's standards and requirements. Desired qualifications (one or more of the following) : Experience in forensic accounting Experience in finance, accounting, or contracting Experience in computer or digital forensics or investigations Experience investigating procurement fraud Background in the Intelligence Community ALL POSITIONS REQUIRE RELOCATION TO THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA. All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.
