Seattle Children's Therapeutics (SCTx) at Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is an exciting venture aimed at leveraging a biotech industry business model in a non-profit context to bring cutting edge, curative technologies, and therapies to defeat pediatric cancer and beyond. The VP, Seattle Children’s Therapeutics and Chief Medical Officer (VP Tx & CMO) is the principal executive for the strategic direction setting, administration, and operation of SCTx, a unit of SCRI. This person is responsible for organizational leadership, fiscal health, and extension of the corporate vision, mission, and goals across SCTx. The VP Tx & CMO develops, implements, and evaluates scientific strategies and provides executive leadership for all phases of the drug discovery and development process. Responsible for core capabilities leading to the discovery of novel therapeutic candidates that are selected for entry into human clinical trials. The VP Tx & CMO, reports to the SVP & Chief Research Operations Officer. Actively engages in anti-racism and equity, diversity, inclusion(EDI) initiatives that support a diverse workforce and patient populations.

Requirements

Required Education/Experience:

  • MD; familiarity with chemical and biomolecular sciences, with board certification in hematology/oncology or other related sub specialization. Contemporary clinical practice experience in immuno-oncology.
  • Fifteen (15) years broad scientific leadership experience in biotechnology, biopharma and/or immunotherapy
  • Seven (7) years minimum experience through sponsor investigation working on investigational new drugs, including the implementation of companion diagnostics or correlative science
  • Five (5) years or more progressive experience in a supervisory role

Min to Max Hourly Salary

$206.73 - $289.42 /hr

Min to Max Annual Salary

$430,000.00 - $602,000.00 /yr

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
