Emursive Productions, the producing company behind the McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More, Gallow Green, Manderley Bar, and The Club Car is seeking an Audio Engineer and an Audio Operator to work on a new production.

The Audio Engineer, reporting to the Audio Supervisor, will support and execute the artistic vision of the Sound Design as it relates to all audio elements. The Audio System Technician will work with the Audio Supervisor in the development and operation of the show run track of the audio system as assigned and ensure that all audio elements are safe and well functioning. The Audio Engineer will maintain a safe and functional workspace and respond to notes as they arise while remaining in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

The Audio Operator, reporting to the Audio Supervisor, will preserve and maintain the artistic vision of the Sound Design as it relates to all audio elements. The Audio Operator will work with the Audio Supervisor in preserving the good condition of all audio elements and ensure that they are safe and well functioning. The Audio Operator will follow proper pre-show, show, and post-show protocols to ensure successful operation of the playback sound reinforcement systems while remaining in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities - Audio Engineer:

  • Work in conjunction with Audio Supervisor to maintain, upgrade or modify audio systems
  • Maintain workshop and equipment inventories, including tools and consumables
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of rigged audio equipment
  • Report back regularly to the Audio Supervisor about the state of the audio systems
  • Stay up to date with both audio show tracks to act as a substitute when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by the Audio Supervisor
  • Ensure a safe working environment at all times, and will report any unsafe conditions or behavior to Production Management.
  • Be independent, have an excellent attitude, and a passion for storytelling in immersive environments.

Responsibilities - Audio Operator:

  • In conjunction with the Audio Supervisor develop and operate the show run track.
  • Operate the Audio Show Run track for each performance.
  • Attend nightly shifts with punctuality on a weekly schedule that is predetermined by the Audio Supervisor
  • Conduct pre-show, show, and post-show procedures as directed by the Audio Supervisor
  • Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs or modifications to the systems during performances as necessary
  • Send out nightly post-show reports to the Audio Supervisor and Audio Engineer notifying them of any problems or providing feedback on any improvements
  • Assist the other audio engineer or lighting operator if necessary during shows
  • Follow proper communication protocols alongside other show running departments
  • Properly store away all equipment and maintain clean and organized working environments
  • Adhere to all safety standards when using sound reinforcement equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by the Audio Supervisor
  • Ensure a safe working environment at all times, and will report any unsafe conditions or behavior to Production Management.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Associate of Arts or BFA in Technical Theatre/related field or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Dante systems
  • Basic knowledge of Qlab operations
  • A strong understanding of industry standards for audio applications
  • A strong understanding of audio signal flow and routing in digital and analog applications
  • A basic understanding and willingness to explore networking concepts (as applied in audio, lighting, show control, and otherwise)
  • Have a basic understanding of power distribution in theatrical applications
  • Have a basic understanding of musical instrument equipment (i.e. changing and tuning drum heads, changing guitar tubes, etc)
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, self-sufficiency, organization, and interdepartmental cooperation
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of supplies, etc., up to 50 lbs., as well as occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with a high paced setting
  • Strong verbal communication skills; great attention to detail; adaptable and calm under pressure; proactive self starter
  • Be comfortable with a flexible schedule including late nights, weekends, and holidays

SALARY

$30.00 – $30.00 per hour
