AXA XL are creating a new delivery model based on agile and a new vendor model to enable more efficient delivery of technology with the business fully embedded in what we deliver. This Digital Factory will first deliver new capabilities for Fusion Transformation and then will be rolled out to other capabilities within GT (Global Technology) and IDA (Innovation, Data & Analytics).

As a Senior Scrum Master within the Digital Factory, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of digital solutions for our insurance workbench product. You will be responsible for facilitating and coaching up to 2 agile teams in adopting and implementing the AXA XL’s scaled agile delivery framework to deliver high-quality software products. This position requires a deep understanding of Salesforce technologies, software lifecycle delivery processes, agile methodologies, and insurance knowledge as a plus.

You act as a facilitator, coach, and problem solver to your squads (Teams) and ensures stringent scrum ceremonies, fostering self-organization within the teams and alignment within your product or value stream. Beyond that you ensure your team is complaint in time and spend tracking.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Organizes and facilitates key Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. Ensure that these meetings are effective, time-boxed, and encourage active participation from all team members.
  • Identify and eliminatesany obstacles that hinder the team's progress. This may involve coordination with external stakeholders, resolving conflicts within the team, or providing necessary resources.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor to the team, guiding them on Agile practices, Scrum principles, and continuous improvement. Empower the team to make decisions and grow in their roles.
  • Shield the team from external distractions and influences that could disrupt their focus or commitment during a Sprint. Promote a safe and collaborative environment for the team to thrive.
  • Ensure that information regarding increment progress, challenges, and changes are transparently shared with all stakeholders. This includes maintaining and updating Scrum artifacts like the Sprint Backlog, Burndown charts, time and spend tracking.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it is well-groomed and ready for the upcoming Sprints. Help the Product Owner in refining user stories and setting clear acceptance criteria. Help to alignment between the Release Train Engineer and the Product Team.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Facilitate retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and support the team in implementing changes to enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Lead and support a group of Scrum Master and develop a Chapter within the Digital Factory.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and between the team and external stakeholders. Encourage collaboration, active listening, and feedback exchange.
  • Support to facilitate key Scaled Agile Ceremonies, such as Program Increment (PI) Planning, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops, to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Gather and analyze performance metrics and reporting data to track the progress of agile teams and the overall Agile Release Train.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks that may impact the successful delivery.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a SAFe or similar environment, ideally insurance or other highly governed industries
  • Significant understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or other relevant agile certifications (SAFe Agilist, SAFe Scrum Master, etc.) are prefered.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Servant leadership and facilitation skills to devlop teams and other scrum master.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their goals and deliver high-quality products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards addressing challenges.
  • Create an environment of mutual influence and support the squad commitments
  • Understanding of financial and resource constraints
  • Knowledge of Salesforce technologies and Financial Services experience, particular Property and Casualty (P&C) experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with agile tools and software, such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or proven track record working within the technology industry or related sectors experiences
