Qualifications

• University degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related fields
• 0-2 years of relevant working experience
• Additional knowledge of programming tools (e.g. R and Python) and understanding of statistics/analytics is preferred
• Creative thinking and excellent problem solving capabilities
• Interest in corporate finance and strategy knowledge domains with intermediate content knowledge
• Able to work with and handle effectively a diverse group of team members 
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish including the ability to interact effectively at all levels of a large international organization

Who You'll Work With

You’ll work in a McKinsey Client Capability Hub in Costa Rica as part of the Strategy & Corporate Finance Capabilities & Insights team. 

The Strategy & Corporate Finance Insights team is McKinsey’s center of excellence in advanced analytics for Strategy and Corporate Finance. Its purpose is to empower teams with advanced, yet easy-to-use, analytical capabilities that can generate superior insights and transform client conversations. To this end, the Strategy & Corporate Finance practice, in conjunction with the McKinsey Global Institute, has assembled one of the world’s most sophisticated groups of experts, sets of databases, and analytical techniques.

The Strategy & Corporate Finance Insights is a global team of finance experts and strategists that addresses clients’ questions about valuation and value creation. The center combines the best of McKinsey’s financial analysis capabilities, proprietary tools and insights, broad industry knowledge, and practical application perspectives. 

What You'll Do

You will articulate, scope, and prioritize research needs and identify and gather relevant information using a broad spectrum of appropriate sources. 

In this role you will provide synthesis, insights, and practical implications within tight deadlines in the form of written summaries, financial models, basic fact packs and spreadsheets. You will serve as a thought partner who can both engage in team problem solving and contribute to knowledge creation initiatives.

Our Capabilities and Insights team provides research analysts with an exceptional work environment and unparalleled work opportunities. Over time, you will develop a solid grounding in core principles of corporate finance. As your career evolves, you may become an analyst and senior analyst and develop deep insights into corporate finance issues. You will work with specialists, experts and senior leaders of the practice to help McKinsey teams identify and evaluate critical financial and strategic issues for discussions with senior client executives and also spend some time working directly on client engagements.
