Position Summary

As a Senior Strategist you will be a member of one of the strongest strategy teams in Australia and responsible for the development of strategic recommendations across some of the biggest, most innovative and exciting clients in the country.

Senior Strategists will have the autonomy to own and lead outstanding strategies working across a selected group of clients. You will also have the support of a Strategy Director to help drive your learning and development to build your craft and consultancy skills.

Strong communications fundamentals coupled with creative thinking and positive client and partner relationships will be key to deliver work that is held up as 'best practice' & 'award winning' both externally and within the agency

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities are across the Strategy Team, our clients and the broader agency - giving you the opportunity to make impact and develop high value outputs across a variety of teams.

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of consumers and their behaviours to identify, develop, and oversee the delivery of unique and innovative strategies to deliver on your client’s desired outcomes. 
  • Be proactive in leading project delivery processes, recognising opportunities to grow your input and experience. 
  • Clearly demonstrate how the strategy delivers on the business need and focus on results and measurement through rigorous strategic planning. 
  • Collaborate with creative agencies and other Mediabrands business units to deliver a seamless product for the client. 
  • Support training needs of our Strategy Executives and the wider agency that show an interest in developing their strategic skills. 
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the right clients by ensuring in-depth knowledge of their business and its needs. 
  • Facilitate client training and knowledge building and client workshops. 
  • Deliver presentations with confidence and a level of rigour that the client requires to be able to sell the strategy ‘up the chain’ internally. 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in delivering and owning Strategic responses to clients - the ability to own projects, manage up and down the chain as well as work well with external agencies and media partners. 
  • Initiative and passion is at the core of what we do – we want independent thinkers who can contribute to the bigger group, internally, externally and with key partners. 
  • Has an ability to acquire data from multiple sources and to formulate actionable insights. Sources may include by are not limited to Roy Morgan, WARC, CMIOnline, Contagious, qualitative & quantitative data. 
  • Maintain knowledge & understanding of the Australian media marketplace, ownership structure, trends in readership, viewing, etc. 
  • Articulate presentation and public speaking skills are a must- we are selling our recommendations to clients to help inform and shape important business solutions, so we need to bring our a-game.
