The College of Built Environments (CBE) has a fantastic opportunity for a Fiscal Technician 3 to join our Planning and Budgeting team. Our Fiscal Technician 3 will perform the following general duties:

Ensure compliance with College, University, State, and Federal policies and procedures with regard to financial transactions

Responding to and providing financial documentation as requested by Internal Audit; coordinate with Internal Audit regarding other audit inquiries.

Recommend and contribute to the development, design, and implementation of fiscal policy and procedure for the College.

Procard reconciliation for approximately 30 procard accounts and two CTA accounts

Processing of payments via Ariba including Requisitions, BPOs, Reimbursements, Travel Reimbursements, Non-PO invoices and Payments to Individuals

Processing of incoming revenue including cash, checks, and credit card payments

General accounting/reconciliation of all fund types -- state, revenue, gifts, and grants

Coordination with Grants Manager, HR Administrator, and Assistant Dean of Budget & Planning with regard to financial transactions

Assistance with budget reporting, preparation of financial statements

Problem solve and triage financial issues related to procurement, deposits, or budget transactions, escalate as necessary

Process internal billing via Cost Transfer Invoices (CTIs), Internal Sales Documents (ISDs), Journal Vouchers (JVs), and expense transfers as needed

Respond to queries from faculty, staff, and other UW offices with regard to financial transactions; act as a resource for faculty, staff, and students on policy and proper procedures

Tracking and processing of service agreement contracts and invoices

High school diploma, or GED certificate AND fifteen quarter hours or ten semester hours of college-level accounting or bookkeeping AND two years of full-time experience as a Fiscal Technician, or equivalent, including experience using accounting-related software; An Associate of Arts Degree, or equivalent, in accounting or business may substitute for one year of required experience.

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated interpersonal skills with diverse people and types of communication

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.


Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field

Familiarity with UW systems including MyFinancialDesktop, Ariba

Completed Department of Enterprise Services (DES) Procurement Training
