Global Director, Partner Engineering & Technology, Mobile & Connected Devices


Mobile Devices and Connectivity are a critical part of Facebook’s mission to build community and bring the world closer together. As part of the Partnerships organization, this team works with our product and business colleagues across the company to identify, design and deliver solutions to enable us and our Partners to better connect people. We build technical relationships and manage programs with partners across Mobile Network Operators, OEMs, FB Reality Labs (FRL) and broader Connectivity initiatives. We are seeking an experienced, impact-focused leader for this dynamic, highly technical organization. You will lead a globally distributed team of engineers and technical program managers and be responsible for projects that span both our internal and partner systems, working together with Mobile Partnerships, as well as Mobile, Connectivity and FRL Product teams across Facebook. You will lead an organization that builds societal value across the globe with the goal of bringing internet access to everyone on the plane. Global Director, Partner Engineering & Technology, Mobile & Connected Devices Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the success and long term vision of the Mobile and Connected Devices Partner Engineering & Technology organization, as the point person for anything engineering or technical for the highest level relationships at our partner organizations.
  • Managing some of the largest & most complex technical initiatives by assembling and leading teams to plan and implement effective strategies to create scalable, pioneering and future facing technology solutions in the Mobile and Connected Devices space. Ensuring substantial long term impact through development and expansion of robust technical programs as an integrated partner to core Product team.
  • Work with Product, Engineering & Partnerships teams to define and execute on global Mobile and Connected Devices product and partner strategies.
  • Build and manage relationships with strategically important partners in order to ensure their success, helping everyone to go faster and deliver impact.
  • Build, scale and lead with empathy, a high performing and inclusive team
  • setting ambitious, measurable objectives and goals which will have direct impact to our partners and align to the direction/vision of our Product teams and Facebook.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years experience as a software engineer or partner/sales engineer and 8+ years experience leading large software engineering, technical consulting or sales engineering teams.
  • Proven experience growing teams and designing organizations to maximize long term impact.
  • Proven system design skills.
  • Demonstrable expertise in developing and evolving successful technical programs with partners.
  • Experience in management of connectivity and integrations into operator networks - including knowledge of OEM devices and related software integrations and connectivity technologies.
  • Expertise in managing people/portfolio to truly advance connected technology in the most creative ways, in the most complex and dynamic environments.
  • Experience communicating and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • B.A./B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record leading engineering teams in the Mobile and Connected Device space on projects across a range of geographies, carriers, OEMs and/or network technologies.
