The Manager of Data Engineering for Supply Chain will be responsible for strategic analysis to support data center growth critical to Facebook’s global infrastructure organization. The leader's mission will be to build a data engineering team that will partner with Supply Chain leaders, Solution Managers, Data Scientists, and Analysts, driving informed product decisions leveraging supply chain data to support the company's rapidly expanding global data center footprint.

Manager, Data Engineering, Supply Chain Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a team of data engineers that analyze data trends to identify opportunities and drive product strategy. Architect the supply chain data foundation, build data marts, and scale the metric strategy, ad-hoc analytics, automation, and decision science use-cases.
  • Proactively drive the vision for BI and Data Warehousing across all supply chain functions, and define and execute on a plan to achieve that vision.
  • Establish and foster cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Solution Managers/Architects, functional leads, and Analyst to understand data needs and deliver across technical DE team.
  • Manage integrated strategy of data marts supporting all supply chain functions. Drive the design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines in production.
  • Drive data quality across the supply chain functions and adjacent stakeholders (e.g. finance, legal, capacity engineering, data center operations). Define and manage SLA’s for all data sets and processes running in production.
  • Ensure product strategy has actionable measurement plans by developing goal metrics and evaluating product team performance, and determine ways to use data as a strategic asset in product development.
  • Develop new techniques and data that will enable answering previously unanswerable questions.
  • Develop deep partnerships with engineering and product teams to deliver on major cross-functional measurements, testing, and modeling efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization from leadership to individual contributors.
  • Establish partnerships with teams that are both highly technical and creative.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, statistics, operations research, or the equivalent level of experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.
  • Experience designing a data science roadmap and executing the vision.
  • Experience establishing a culture of ownership, collaboration, and results.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting talent in data engineering or software engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering data-driven products and insights, and influencing product and engineering decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data center operations, supply chains, or sales/marketing organizations, and connecting data strategy to business strategy with executive leadership.
  • Familiar with operation research use-cases (e.g. optimization, simulations, decision trees, anomaly detection).
