Consumer Product Marketing Manager, Messenger

We are looking for a proven, Consumer Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to join our growing marketing team. Our ideal candidate is a strong consumer-focused business leader with a general manager mindset, able to transition between coordination and project management to influencing product leaders through strategic thought leadership. In this role, you will be deeply embedded with the product team but represent the perspective of marketing and point of view of the consumer throughout the product lifecycle - from product development and go-to-market to ongoing engagement. You’ll be responsible for leading a cross-functional team that identifies insights to influence product strategy and a coordinated GTM effort that drives awareness, adoption and engagement of Messenger and sometimes cross-app (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger) products. You will work closely with product and broader marketing communications teams and internal partners to shape the Go-to-Market strategy including developing launch narratives, positioning, messaging and outbound communication, as well as quarterback the execution. Excellent analytical, communication, project management skills, cross-functional collaboration, ability to operate independently, and comfort with ambiguity are a must.

Consumer Product Marketing Manager, Messenger Responsibilities

  • Work with Marketing Insights & Data Science to generate break-through quantitative, qualitative, and competitive insights
  • Build strong product positioning, clear narratives, and drive influence across product to ensure we’re delivering consumer value and driving understanding
  • Drive go-to-market strategy and execution working closely with cross-functional teams to determine effective launch strategy and communications sequencing
  • Drive strategic air traffic control, program management and operations of complex GTM execution across teams, including Marketing, Communications, Partnerships, Privacy and Policy etc.
  • Partner with brand and integrated marketing on outbound marketing and advertising strategies and programs to drive consumer awareness, adoption and long term engagement
  • Tackle complex challenges with a strategic mindset and create thoughtful recommendations and action plans for solving them with product and cross-functional leadership

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing launching & scaling consumer apps, products or services for consumer tech brands
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing, or other related discipline
  • Experience in the Internet and/or technology industry
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience
  • Organizational skills to manage & execute complex launches
  • Experience with launching innovative and disruptive products
  • Experience partnering with and influencing Product Management
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (internally and externally)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience transitioning from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master in Business Administration
  • Strong strategic thinking and polished communications
  • Experience in communications product
  • Experience in a startup or highly complex/ambiguous environment
