Are you ready to make that impact? In this role, you will work in a group focused on early-stage product and technology development. We are seeking a hands-on technical specialist with a passion for innovation and a proven record developing ground-breaking solutions. We are looking for proven ability to turn state of the art analog and digital technologies into manufacturable products. You must have strong interpersonal skills, work well in a cross functional team environment, and have a wide range of technical capabilities to deliver on the next generation of digital surgery solutions.

We recognize the changing world of business and are willing to consider remote work options from others JNJ Medical Device R&D facility locations, or relocation to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build technology solutions and strategic direction to drive digital transformation of surgical products
  • Develop solutions to deliver on unmet needs in collaboration with multi-functional teams
  • Represent and drive state of the art knowledge in sensor design and digital technologies across the business
  • Drive practical implementation of digital technologies into surgical tool design and operating room sensing
  • Utilizing a solid analytical foundation: design, prototype and test solutions internally as well as working with external partners
  • Accountable for effective and manufacturable solutions
  • Collaborate with teams of engineers across the company. This role will include direct management of other engineers
  • Lead and execute early-phase, complex projects

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Biomedical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, etc). Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of product development experience. Medical Device or regulated environment preferred.
  • Proven product development history
  • Ability to move projects forward during early-stage product and technology development
  • Ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization

Preferred Experiences:

  • Proven technical understanding of complex engineering problems; Demonstrated ability of analytical problem solving and troubleshooting;
  • Experience realizing electrical systems, analog and digital circuit design, signal processing and conditioning, wireless communication, embedded programming, computational algorithms, and power electronics.
  • Hands-on experience integrating complex electromechanical systems
  • Deep knowledge in sensors and control systems
  • Knowledge of medical device development, including software development and regulatory considerations.
  • Excellent communicator across a multi-functional team
  • Experience managing technical talent
