Material Handler II

Summary:

The material handler technician II position is responsible for receiving, moving and shipping materials to appropriate locations in the plant/warehouse and insuring the proper flow of production material to the assigned area, while maintaining accurate inventory records. This position may also be responsible for managing all day to day computer activities in Oracle and/or managing warehouse floor operations. Will fill in as supervisor as required. Must be able represent Ferring to vendors / custom brokers, and will manage administrative Oracle transactions and become a super User. Must use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews daily work schedule, checks and maintains fork lift equipment and temperature logs and prepares for the days operations.
  • Selects, loads, moves materials from trucks, shipping, receiving, packaging and production areas.
  • Insure that work is performed in accordance with quality standards, SOP’s and regulatory compliance.
  • Removes materials from storage or shipping containers and restacks and re-palletize materials.
  • Moves prepared materials to appropriate locations in the plant and performs the appropriate computer transactions.
  • At end of shift, secures all equipment and machinery, and completes all required paperwork.
  • Performs other related production work as required, eg packaging operations, housekeeping, etc.
  • Insures the accuracy of warehouse and packaging inventory by having keen sense of detail. 
  • Fill in as supervisor as required and assign work to other team members to maintain the production, receiving and shipping schedules.
  • Assist in the training of new employees in all warehouse functions, Train the Trainer concept. 

Oracle Power User Responsibilities:

  • Perform all Oracle R12 and MSCA related daily transactions for receiving, put away, batch pick, shipping and inventory adjustment.
  • Provide on-the-job training and support to end-users in his/her team.
  • Report issues (incidents) via CIS Helpdesk & (Service Now). Check/Validate that issue resolution is completed.
  • Fill in Change Requests (CR) for end-users (i.e.; user access).
  • Participate in regular Incident/Problem review meetings with Oracle SAG Stream Lead, as needed.
  • Participation in Oracle related projects, as needed.
  • Create Transport Incidents in Track wise.
  • Schedule carriers for Pickups.
  • Perform Weekly Data logger replacement in Refrigerators.

Requirements:

  • Education HS Diploma.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Hazmat Certification Preferred.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of material handling experience required.
  • Previous Oracle, SAP or ERP experience.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand SOP’s, OSHA and FDA regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication / comprehension skills.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
