As Senior Technical Editor(Or Senior Editor), you will in charge of the editorial work, including collection, classification, and analysis of law-related information in general, and leads this work by linking the information and enhancing the content of each item.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Senior Technical Editor, you will:

  • Leading the compilation of various information such as laws, ordinances, precedents, books and magazines, bibliographic information, legal news, etc., establishing means of collection, operation, progress management, etc.
  • Manage temporary staff and other members as a team leader
  • Classify, organize, analyze, and link information using editing systems/tools, etc.
  • Inspection and quality control of content
  • Creation of advanced editorial added value through collaboration with outside editors
  • Cooperation in improving the editing system/tools and CMS
  • Flexibility for special projects based on company needs

About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Technical Editor if your background includes:

  • Basic knowledge and interest in law (eg. degree in a legal field or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years of experience in editing legal books and other publications
  • Computer skills to use editing systems/tools, etc.
  • Skills to understand and smoothly implement content management strategies
  • Ability to work as a team member and leader of a small organization
  • Ability to liaise with external editors, etc.
  • Ability to communicate smoothly using written documents, communication tools and verbal communication in Japanese and English
  • Official legal qualifications is a huge plus
  • Librarian and other certifications is a plus
  • IT Passport and other certifications is a plus
