If so, we are looking for you to join the Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) Engineering team as a Senior Technical Program Manager. This team, working closely with our Software Engineering and Business teams, builds, and operates, a portfolio of solutions to handle Inventory and Asset Management to support Data Center Operations.

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation team (CO+I) is the team behind Microsoft’s Cloud infrastructure and is responsible for innovating, planning designing, building and operating one of the largest datacenter fleets in the world. We support product teams by providing secure, compliant, cost efficient and highly available global infrastructure that Microsoft’s customers depend on. Within CO+I, the Cloud Operation, Innovation and Engineering (CO+IE) organization provides software solutions that enable cost-effective execution of datacenter planning, operations, and execution. We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for the CO+I organization, who has experience with Inventory Management workflows and can lead with a customer focus and technical skill. This person should be able to design and execute technical solutions to address large, complex business challenges at scale. They will be accountable for end-to-end outcomes with a high level of visibility. The successful candidate will be able to create and shape new features from scratch as well as refine and improve existing features. We work quickly in an Agile environment, and the ideal candidate should like delivering value gradually in a continuous learning environment. Being a foundational layer of Microsoft means that their work will have a wide impact across the whole company. As a senior TPM, you will interact regularly across different organizations and provide strategic direction to your partner teams. You will have to collaborate with your partner software teams and across teams to generate more value for Microsoft. You should have a balance of practical realism and hopeful optimism that you can make a significant difference.   • Create and lead the vision and strategy for Inventory software tools within CO+IE including roadmaps.
  • Manage the design and execution of software solutions that support large-scale deployments.
  • Define success criteria and build relationships to deliver features for complex projects involving different functions related to Inventory and Asset Management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to evaluate options, design solutions, and propose plans for product and service enhancements.
  • Work closely with Software Engineering to create technical solutions for various features.
  • Identify risks and suggest mitigations based on data analysis.
  • Handle large, complex projects by breaking them down into smaller parts.
  • Create functional specifications and ensure successful, timely completion.
  • Set up and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to manage service and business outcomes and their associated Objective Key Results (OKRs).
  • Develop and implement solutions using agile development methods.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 3+ years experience with Inventory Management or Datacenter Operations

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 4+ years experience with Inventory Management or Datacenter Operations
  • 4+ years of experience working in a DevOps environment within Cloud Engineering or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience with software development lifecycles from conception to delivery
  • At least 3 years of experience with data analysis, data presentation using Power BI or similar.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)
  • Ability to manage high levels of ambiguity and drive for results
  • Able to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Ability to diagnose and guide teams to troubleshoot issues, solve complex problems, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Business acumen with the ability to align technical initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels (technical, with peers, with leadership, and with execs)
  • Proven track record of partnering with software engineering teams to drive improvements in tooling and automation

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
