Lead the full-stack ToxMod team (“Web" Team) to design and implement features and systems to directly support customer needs. Work closely with other engineers, Product, Design, and QA to satisfy clients that include some of the biggest names in gaming, such as Activision, Riot, and more. Think through tradeoffs, resolve unknowns, prove out approaches, and support Modulate in making key decisions as we solidify our foundations and prepare for the future.

Modulate's engineering team is at an exciting inflection point, defining new standards and processes to power future growth while shipping features to a fast-growing customer base. Your skill and expertise will contribute to setting patterns for effective teams and shaping strong engineering practices for Modulate as a whole.

The salary for this position is set at $185,000/yr.

Role responsibilities:

  • Lead, grow, and inspire your team to build and maintain our flagship ToxMod product. 
  • Plan, prioritize, and make choices with supported autonomy to increase our responsible impact.
  • Coach and guide your team to develop their skills and progress their careers.
  • Collaborate with other team leads, engineers, designers, product managers, QA, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and account managers to design and implement features for ToxMod.
  • Personally implement and execute your team's priorities alongside your team members.
  • Review code, contribute to standards and technical choices, and generally positively impact our systems and processes.
  • Ensure reliability and predictability in our planning, estimation, and execution of projects.
  • Align with Modulate's operating principles and add to Modulate's culture.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience managing engineers, planning workstreams, curating a healthy engineering domain.
  • Experience contributing code to multi-system architectures that handle large amounts of data.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment where business and product priorities may shift quickly; has skill in setting expectations while limiting chaos.
  • Experience setting realistic expectations. Experience saying “no” when needed.
  • Deep background in full-stack web development and relational databases.
