Production Strategist, Creative X

While we lead our team to create innovative content, digital and in-product brand experience across our own channels, we also oversee our lead agencies in the creation of content for TV, Print and OOH. The Creative X Production Strategist is a new role for the brand, responsible for overseeing all external agency commercial productions and ensuring best in class creative output. The role shapes/influences marketers and agencies during production planning and execution in order to elevate the quality of creative across the Facebook family of apps, which includes the Facebook Company, Facebook App, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram. This role will be responsible for influencing large teams of marketers and agencies via upstream planning, and will ensure the following across a high volume of work: Fair cost. Consistently high creative quality. Implementation, tracking and reporting of social impact initiatives through production. This includes diversity & inclusion initiatives as well as sustainability.

Production Strategist, Creative X Responsibilities

  • Upstream campaign planning and budgeting with marketers across the family of apps
  • Upstream production planning with agencies
  • Vet and review bids, directors, treatments (focused on creative quality, not driving lowest cost)
  • Evaluate and build production approaches for global business needs
  • Balance creative excellence, cost effectiveness, and global needs and asset usage
  • Update internal resources and tools like global best practices, global production playbook, COVID shoot guidelines
  • Conduct training sessions for new partners and onboarding them into the Facebook ways of working, including our social impact initiatives
  • Drive diversity & inclusion holistically through entire production process and holding marketers and agencies accountable for diverse perspectives
  • Track and report on progress against social impact initiatives like diversity & inclusion with directors, crews and production partners as well as sustainability and building economic pipelines
  • Shape and improve social impact programs. This includes concepting net new social impact initiatives and programs and applying them at scale, and refining existing programs through feedback and surveys
  • Present to agencies and marketers on a regular cadence, with the goal of driving fair cost, consistent creative quality and implementation of social impact initiatives at scale for all of our brands
  • Work closely with Director of Agency Partnerships, Managing Director of Creative X, Head of Production and Director of Business Affairs, Creative X Executive Producers and Agency Heads of Production and producers
  • Work with legal, finance and sourcing cross-functional to ensure effective and rigorous reporting, reconciliation and legal compliance
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operational workflow and processes, implementing solutions to elevate quality of creative work. Upscale production planning with marketers including building schedules, budgets, and sometimes driving RFP’s for new business needs
  • Conduct quarterly business effectiveness studies on production data across external agency partners (this will be done with a team)

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience working in advertising/marketing production on agency or brand side
  • 10+ years of experience leading global integrated campaigns for brands as a producer, EP or Head of Production within advertising/marketing industry
  • Experience in integrated production disciplines including film/TV, print, OOH, radio, on platform (social), experiential and digital
  • Experience presenting to executive-level audiences
  • Experience with Google Slides and Keynote
  • Experience working fast-paced environments with a high degree of ambiguity
  • Experience building relationships with marketers and agencies
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as Head of Production for an agency or brand
  • Film/TV experience is preferred with knowledge of directors, production companies and editorial/post companies
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
