About the Position:

We are looking for an experienced professional who contributes to the planning, development, implementation and support of the manufacturing test process for both new and released products. The candidate will develop hardware test plans and processes for complex networking products and actively drive their development and deployment into our production facilities. They will partner cross-functionally with counterparts in automation and process test engineering throughout the product development cycle. The candidate will support a close partnership with Design Engineering teams to resolve complex product and process problems found during the development or production era. This engineer will develop strategic technical solutions that have a cross-functional impact and will become the Functional Test Engineering subject matter expert for their products within Juniper.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines, designs and implements Functional & System Manufacturing Hardware Test Plans for highly complex Juniper products.
  • Leads the development, implementation and evaluation of hardware reliability test strategies and methodologies for test/debug support of Prototype, Pilot and early production builds.
  • Works closely with and coordinates required actions of partner engineering teams.
  • Trains factory personnel for manufacturing test and debug of products.
  • Regularly reviews manufacturing test results in detail and makes appropriate optimizations and enhancements to the process.
  • Provides subject matter expert support for failure analysis and debugging for escalations from factory and field.
  • Conducts regular reviews of product changes, assesses the impact to manufacturing test process and plans for appropriate support.
  • Develops advanced debug tools to assist with failure analysis and resolution.
  • Identifies and acts on opportunities to improve internal development processes.
  • Leads cross-functional teams regarding highly complex issues
  • Communicates effectively at all levels from supporting engineers to Senior and Executive Management.
  • Strategically improves processes that go beyond product and/or project-specific tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
  • 8-10 years of in-depth experience evaluating test and designing test processes for complex assemblies and cutting edge technologies.
  • Must have expert failure analysis skills.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of network technologies and physical interfaces.
  • Must have extensive experience working with UNIX-based development systems and tools.
  • Effective and efficient problem-solving/analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive project management skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and influencing skills.
  • Very strong technical communication capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skill

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient automation skills (PERL, PHP, Python etc)
  • Strong focus and knowledge of hardware design processes and techniques
  • Experience with planning and failure analysis of complex ASIC designs
