Overview

The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for product designs and development for cordless power tools that meet the expectations of Snap-on customers. Independently manage projects from product concept through startup production balancing user input, function, durability, schedule and cost. Interaction with both our manufacturing plants and outside suppliers required

Responsibilities

  • Create engineering specifications
  • Solve problems and be a self-starter
  • Create product schedules working with suppliers and Marketing
  • Generate project status reports
  • Motivate project team members
  • Perform computer simulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Seven (7) years relative experience
  • Skilled troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated skills in the design of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of electrical components and operation
  • Ability to construct DFMEA documentation
  • Demonstrated skills in the design of mechanical systems
  • Dimensional tolerancing with strong math and analytical skills 
  • Understand mechanical drawings
  • Ability to construct DFMEA documentation
