The EMG Tech measures, by means of an electromyograph, impulses, frequencies and differences in evoke potential tests between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in diagnosis of nerve conduction studies. Prepares all IS transactions to ensure patient information and exam results are recorded in a timely manner for patient medical record and billing purposes. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates accuracy in the study of wave characteristics during each test to detect evidence of brain disorders, to distinguish curve characteristics caused by brain disorder, and carefully mark tests accordingly for study by the physician.
  • Detects and eliminates all artifacts from consideration in the test results.
  • Provides appropriate care for all types of seizure activity experienced by the patient while having the test.
  • Performs special procedure EMGs using appropriately placed electrodes.
  • Prepares, positions, informs patients, and performs evoke potential tests.
  • Performs all IS transactions to ensure accurate patient and exam/procedure information is recorded in a timely manner for patient medical record and billing purposes. 



  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered EMG Technologist preferred. CPR required.
  • Education: High school graduate or GED. Graduate of an accredited EMG program or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two (2) years prior experience required.
  • Special qualifications: Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period. 
  • Work schedule: Neurology Clinic - PRN - Monday-Friday(8:00 am-4:30 pm)
