The Boeing Global Services Digital Aviation Services team is a key innovation group where we conduct best-in-class aviation research and quickly turn market-driven ideas into products. It leverages industry best-practices, such as Agile Software Development, Pragmatic Marketing, gated processes, and self-directed teams, to develop new and innovative digital products for our customers.
Aviation has adopted a target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. To achieve this ambitious target Boeing has a suite of sustainability focused solutions that we are seeking to build out specific capabilities around Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
We are also seeking to support wider Environmental Governance across the industry through maximizing the value of exiting solutions – in particular this will include creating new and novels ways to help airlines manage their non-CO2 emissions such as Contrails and NOx emissions.
We are looking for a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer who will support one of our integrated project teams (IPT) working on an integrated, intelligent solution targeting sustainable aviation.
In close collaboration with your IPT, you will identify user and customer needs, collect business and technology insights, and turn them into products and experiences that will make aviation sustainable. Within your IPT, you will interface with product management and represent the UX team in PI/sprint planning, architecture reviews, and other meetings. You will work directly with users, stakeholders, and customers during all phases of the project to develop strategies and specifications to create/improve the performance, usability, and effectiveness of native mobile and/or web-based software applications.
You will also collaborate with the European and Global UX team, benefit of their aviation industry experience, and in return, share your experience that made you an outstanding UX Designer. You will be expected to not only work on your projects independently, but also train and mentor other team members.
In alignment with our Design Thinking process, you will:
You should bring a solid background based on a minimum of 7 or more years of relevant design experience (UX Designer, Interaction Designer, UX Researcher, and/or Information Architect) and have an affinity for Qualitative Research, Analysis & Synthesis, Presentation, Facilitation, and Writing. Communication skills and team player qualities are equally important.
Additionally, your application should include a strong portfolio (online or pdf (max 2 MB) demonstrating your research process and associated results.
