The role.

As Platform Engineer at Universe, you will apply your passion for technology and live events in our quest to build a world-class Event Ticketing platform. In this deeply technical and business-minded position, you will report directly to the Platform Lead, and help push forward development of our platform operations. You’ll be challenged with technically rewarding tasks such as completing our migration to Kubernetes, implementing and monitoring security controls, and optimizing the spend of a ~$250,000 IT platform budget.

What your day could look like:

  • Migrating the last of our services to Kubernetes
  • Maintaining our Kubernetes-based testing environment infrastructure
  • Modernizing build and deployment process
  • Managing your project priorities
  • Building tools to enhance developer productivity
  • Driving operational efficiencies within the technology organization
  • Monitoring information technology spend across vendors and platforms

What we're looking for: 

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with high-availability, high-demand systems
  • Experience with security and IT operational audits
  • You’re a hacker at heart who lovingly crafts elegant solutions with pride
  • You are an independent, fast-learning, self-starter who takes ownership over solving hard problems
  • You’re energetic, passionate, and driven

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with Go
  • Experience with Phoenix/Elixir
  • Experience with FluxCD and Helm
  • Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis
  • Experience with both Amazon AWS and Google Cloud Platform
