Our Opportunity

As Senior Manager, Corporate Communications you will be responsible for elements of our External Corporate Communications strategy to raise awareness for Qurate Retail Group (QRG) through media and executive visibility on traditional and new media platforms. You will work to develop, manage and execute corporate communications strategies, as well as represent the Corporate Communications team internally across business units and markets.

How You will make an Impact

  • Manage ongoing strategy and plan to increase positive coverage of Qurate Retail Group.
  • Work with executives across the business providing counsel and support for media opportunities
  • Lead prep and media training sessions, prepare personal briefings, and accompany executives when speaking in public or with the media. 
  • Write a wide range of media facing communications materials including but not limited to, press releases, statements, talking points, and newsroom content
  • Play a key role on the Newsroom team to drive alignment with corporate visibility goals.
  • Lead in a matrix team to generate and curate stories across business units that will enhance awareness of Qurate Retail Group.
  • Develop appropriate corporate communication tools and platforms; drive comprehensive corporate communication strategy and plans to articulate objectives.
  • Prepare personal briefing materials, lead prep and media training sessions, and accompany executives when speaking in public or with the media.
  • Create executive visibility plans for senior level executives.
  • Partner with Qurate Retail Group’s business unit leaders to evolve and elevate Corporate Communications operations and process to best reflect and serve the family of brands.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s Crisis Communications plan to include research, the development of scenario plans and regular training materials.
  • Support day-to-day issues communications needs as they arise.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or the equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a communications role within a corporation or agency.
  • Media relations skills and direct experience working with a variety of media – print, broadcast, online.
  • Experience supporting crisis communication plans.
  • Experience with the full range of communications best practices, and the ability to understand, simplify, and communicate complex business performance and financial data into clear external communications.
  • Knowledge and interest in new media and its influence on reputation and media and consumer sentiment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders in a collaborative fashion.
