Make Your Mark:

You will lead the team responsible for all things related to our HR systems and operations to support BlackLine – from overseeing the development and optimization of people technology solutions, defining data structure to support leaders, reporting and analytics across the company, to simplifying processes that support managers and employees alike. 

You'll Get To:

  • Lead and inspire a team of leaders and individual contributors who are highly technical, analytical, and operational as well as creating a culture of transparency and communication throughout the organization 
  • Develop and implement a broad people technology strategy and roadmap that aligns with the organization's HR and business goals. Manage, plan, and administer all phases of the software development lifecycle for Agile and Waterfall projects
  • Provide overall technical leadership in consulting, designing, and implementing HR solutions
  • Manage overall business expectations, perceptions and support ongoing two-way communication of technology strategies, priorities and governance and partner closely with business stakeholders
  • Lead cross functional People team projects aimed at improving operational efficiencies and enhancing the employee, manager and people team experiences
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy and protection regulations. Implement and maintain strong data governance practices to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of HR data within the HR systems. Lead compliance efforts through SOX, Corporate Audits, internal/external audits, and Privacy 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the People team, as well as cross functional partners in Finance, Accounting, Operations, IT, and beyond to ensure alignment and optimization of technology and operations efforts 

What You'll Bring:

Years of Experience in Related Field: 10+ years 

Education: Bachelors or equivalent experience 

Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated strength in stakeholder management, roadmap prioritization, and change management skills in how they communicate 
  • Experience designing and communicating clear processes, with a focus on problem solving and process improvement 
  • Experience in systems implementation that includes integration across business systems beyond the People & Talent team, such as Finance, Corporate Engineering, and IT along with overseeing a comprehensive data strategy
  • Demonstrates an operational mindset, able to identify root causes for process inefficiencies, and build scalable processes
  • Passion to provide a unified employee experience that models BlackLine’s culture and core values of Think, Create, Serve and Deliver
  • In-depth knowledge of the application development life cycle with ability to identify innovative application development alternatives 
  • Possess professional level knowledge in project management
  • Strong leadership qualities with proven ability to lead and motivate geographically dispersed technical teams; capability to work effectively with clients, senior management, and other team members 

We’re Even More Excited If You Have:

  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors and Workday 
  • Previous experience implementing core HRIS systems, prefer workday, and planning for future scalability 
  • PMP and/or Six Sigma certifications

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant’s prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
