Position Summary

Test raw materials to support animal health production according to government and company standards. Perform laboratory support functions such as reagent preparation, cleaning and other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities

Conduct testing of raw materials following established test procedures utilizing analytical instrumentation, Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CGMPs, Company Quality Standards and FDA/EU Guidelines. Adhere to testing schedules to accomplish a high volume of critical work without compromising the integrity of the results. Communicate effectively with lead analysts and colleagues. 

Education and Experience

Required

High School Diploma or GED. Two or more years analytical chemistry laboratory experience. The candidate should possess excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills. Basic computer skills required. 

Preferred

Two year degree in a science based field with two or more year’s analytical chemistry laboratory experience, BS in chemistry or Bio-Chemistry preferred.

Technical Skills and Competencies

Experience in an analytical chemistry testing laboratory performing wet chemistry testing and instrumentation including HPLC, GC, AA and UV/Vis preferred. Working familiarity with Word and Excel required. Operational experience with Water’s Empower data acquisition preferred. Working knowledge of the US and European pharmacopeia preferred.
