Scientist / Sr Scientist – Immunology – Rixensart, Belgium – 12 month FTC

Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to use the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.

This role will work fully on-site with our client in Rixensart, Belgium. This is an initial 12 month FTC with possibility for extension.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will perform research activities relating to bacterial vaccines, viral vaccines and adjuvants. As a Scientist / Sr Scientist you will be responsible for

  • Evaluating potential new vaccine candidates and technological platform in in vitro and in vivo models
  • Conducting laboratory experiments & immunology assays including ELISA, Flow cytometry, Cell culture and viral neutralization assays
  • Recording of data in electronic laboratory notebook
  • Reporting of scientific data associated to laboratory experiments

Qualifications/Experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in biology, chemistry, bio-chemistry or relevant experience in biotech /academic lab
  • Previous experience working in an immunology laboratory.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of biological assays such as ELISA, functional/neutralization assays, Flow cytometry, cell culture and the handling of viral/bacterial pathogens
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential. Fluency in French is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Result-oriented, rigourous and structured
