Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA is currently seeking a Production Planning and Scheduler / Principal Production Planning and Scheduler to support our CMBRE program efforts. 

In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to):

  • Create a backward master schedule for pre-contract commitment reviews to ensure available capacity and lead-time.
  • Daily, provide a schedule attainment report, and update schedule status.
  • Weekly, update the dynamic forward master schedules used for detail capacity/labor planning. These schedules account for material availability and current schedule completion status.
  • Working with Manufacturing Engineering, utilize a software simulation tool to better plan capacity, labor, and master schedules.
  • Weekly, update the full planning-horizon forward schedule charts, and two-week detail shop schedules for shop floor execution.
  • Weekly, compute Earned Value for CMBRE and AAR47.Weekly, update the kitting schedule.
  • Monthly, extract and analyze data from CostPoint to monitor the labor efficiency of each operator on the floor, identify top performers for each sub-assembly, and to update the HPU (Hours per Unit) of each sub-assembly and top-assembly.
  • Support all meetings regarding schedule/labor planning and execution.

This requisition can be filled as a level 2 (A02) or level 3 (A03). Basic qualifications for both levels are listed below.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

Basic Qualifications for a level 2 are: 

1. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience. 

2. An understanding of the essentials and mechanics of MRP; master scheduling and detail scheduling: and rough-cut capacity planning and detail capacity planning.

3. Experience with MS Excel, Project and Word are required.

4. Must have experience extrapolating and analyzing data; analytical skills are essential. 

5. Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate to all levels of employees via written and spoken format.

6. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Gov't issued Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications for a level 3 are: 

1. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience. 

2. An understanding of the essentials and mechanics of MRP; master scheduling and detail scheduling: and rough-cut capacity planning and detail capacity planning.

3. Experience with MS Excel, Project and Word are required.

4. Must have experience extrapolating and analyzing data; analytical skills are essential. 

5. Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate to all levels of employees via written and spoken format.

6. Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Gov't issued Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Current/active Secret clearance. 

2. Current APICS certification.
