Become part of the growing Military GPS Business’ ASIC & FPGA Design and Verification team. As an engineer in this organization, you will be a member of an experienced, dynamic design and verification team employing best practice design and verification methodologies supporting our next generation of Military GPS Products. 

This position is for an experienced and motivated Senior Electrical or Computer Engineering candidate to be involved primarily in the test-bench implementation and verification of a next generation GPS ASIC. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, IA. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.

Primary assignments and Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Verification environment architecture and design using SystemVerilog with UVM/UVM-F
  • Creation of written Test Cases and Test Procedures
  • Creation of test sequences, agents, predictors, and scoreboards within UVM environment
  • Functional coverage and Code coverage metrics
  • Recommend new tools and practices for continuous improvement in the group's ASIC / FPGA verification flow

This position requires these skills and abilities:

  • Testbench development for the verification of RTL blocks using SystemVerilog
  • Proficiency using ASIC and/or FPGA simulation and synthesis tools (e.g. Questasim, Vivado, Modelsim, FPGA-specific tools) 
  • Familiarity with chip-level verification techniques and languages (e.g. constrained random, functional coverage, SystemVerilog, Assertions) 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, as a part of a team of engineers with a variety of skills and backgrounds, matrixed into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to document and present one's work and status
  • Ability to obtain a US DOD Security Clearance (US Citizenship is required)
  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

Desired skills of a successful candidate:

  • Familiarity with DO-254 Safety Certification processes
  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable STEM field
  • Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Subversion, ClearCase, Git, RCS) 
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming concepts (e.g. Java, C++, SystemVerilog OVM/UVM)
  • Experience with Unix, scripting, C, Python, and/or Perl 
  • Digital circuit architecture, design, and resource tradeoffs
