As a Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) Digital Technology Service Delivery Manager, you will collaborate and partner with a diverse cross-section of IT, Engineering, and Program teammates supporting RMD’s programs in order to continually improve the quality and cost of IT environments and overall service delivery. Reporting to the RMD Digital Technology Program Execution (PE) Service Management Excellence leader, your efforts will result in the definition and deployment of standardized approaches and processes to improve the IT service delivery and support of critical capabilities to our customers worldwide for a large multi-program connected set of programs. This role will include responsibilities that include the following:

  • Serve as the full lifecycle IT Service Delivery lead for the Raytheon Technologies Sensor Product Line (SPL) set of programs and information systems.
  • Define and execute an overarching strategy for IT service delivery for SPL area, which supports business growth objectives and the incorporation of modern, cloud and other digital technologies into the IT infrastructure environment
  • Partner closely with IT Section Management, IT Program Lead(s), System Administrators and Network Engineers to ensure excellent IT service delivery
  • Lead IT service-related issues prevention and implement effective change to eliminate recurrence
  • Partner with the IT Service Execution Lead and the Service Management Excellence department on the strategy and implementation of IT service management best practices
  • Ensure the creation and execution of the technical and service roadmaps related to the multi-program areas IT infrastructure which integrates into the overall IT strategies, architectures and best practices
  • Oversee the definition and deployment of common IT service management best practices, processes, and tooling that create a standardized approach to managing, monitoring, and reporting on IT technical support to the multi-program area
  • Lead through influence a matrixed team to maintain systems, transforming to new platforms and other technologies, ensuring the security of the environment through compliance efforts, modernizing and growing the infrastructure to enable greater economies of scale while improving business continuity and agility.
  • Partner and collaborate with solution architects to infuse new technologies and services into the multi-program area and information systems architecture and increase the use of standardized solutions
  • Leverage and develop appropriate relationships with vendors, functional partners, and other business IT organizations to support the delivery of IT service management capabilities to program environments.
  • Identify opportunities to gain efficiencies and act upon them, partnering with other teams within IT, Engineering, and other functions to realize positive outcomes
  • Partner with a team of Service Managers to establish and continually improve service management best practices across IT
  • Leverage Scrum, Agile and DevOps practices in order to manage daily priorities and ensure alignment with Engineering development execution needs
  • Support change control best practices and lead the process for your assigned areas
  • Develop and maintain strong internal partner relationships, and advocate for their needs
  • Support programs and pursuits via occasional International and/or Domestic travel

This role requires strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, extensive industry and technical experience, as is the ability to develop and leverage a broad network of teammates within and outside of Raytheon Technologies, to include the vendor/supplier community.

Job Location: This role will be located in Marlborough, MA.

A US DoD Secret Clearance is required for this role, except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible to obtain clearances.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years professional experience leading teams as a leader, architect, manager, project manager, or program manager
  • Experience deploying new capabilities in classified and/or unclassified processing and communications systems in an operational environment, including the modernization of legacy environments
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of ITIL and service management frameworks
  • Strong technical understanding of Servers (Windows, Unix, Linux), Storage, Virtualization / Cloud technologies, and networking systems
  • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and Scrum practices
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library v4 or v3 (ITIL) Foundations Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Working knowledge of best practices in IT security
  • Knowledge of IT service management tools and deployment methodologies
  • Experience supporting capture/proposal efforts, including authoring responsibilities
  • Strong program/project management experience (minimum of 4 years professional experience)
  • Experience with Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to support occasional domestic and international travel
  • A US DoD Secret Clearance is required for this role. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience designing and/or deploying service support models that incorporate cloud solutions, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions in hybrid cloud environments
  • ITIL v4 or v3 Expert or Master, or ITIL v2 Service Manager certification
  • Proven success working within a large multi-disciplined team track record of adherence to cost and schedule
  • Superior written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly articulate ideas, process steps, and technical data in written, graphical, and spoken dialogue
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate a business case for investment to senior management and executive audiences
  • Ability to team effectively
  • Strong understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment and TCP/IP concepts
  • Experience working with networks both domestically and internationally
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and group policy management
  • Knowledge of virtual computing technologies
  • Working knowledge of thin client technologies
  • Scripting / programming experience
  • Curiosity, problem solving, desire to learn new skills
  • Innovative and strategic thinker

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field
