The Lab Technician will employ security concepts, theories, insights, tools and methodologies to mitigate system weaknesses and vulnerabilities and apply advanced analytical skills and technical resources at the tactical levels and implement infrastructure solutions supporting command decision-making and execution of mission requirements. The Lab Technician will provide support as needed to lab staff in the tasks of provisioning and issuing equipment to end users, as well as maintaining inventory database and provide support for systems administration tasks such as patching, updating, and maintaining network infrastructure. This role will support the implementation of new technologies and equipment in the lab environment, provision and provide support for Virtual Private Network (VPN) or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g., Citrix) to users. This role will also perform large scale configuration management and deployment across Windows, macOS, Linux/Unix, and other operating systems and virtual environments and perform implementation of granular access control. This roll will also monitor systems for acceptable performance and user accessibility, establish back-ups, and monitor systems security. This role will also be responsible for Fly Away Kits (FAKs) sanitization, inventory, repairs, and maintenance.
The Lab Technician will provide network documentation for changes in network topography or policies, will provision and provide support for Virtual Machines operating within the network, and perform network maintenance tasks such as patching hardware and cabling. The Lab Technician will perform systems maintenance tasks such as routine maintenance and patching on databases and software systems. This role will perform reimaging and rapid refresh and deployment of hardware, as well as inventory hardware and software, including licenses. This role will also provide advice and assistance to users in accessing and using the lab, and respond to users’ needs in a timely manner, as well as conducts capacity and performance analysis, and provide system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering or related discipline, and at least 2 years of lab management or systems administration experience; OR at least 10 years lab management or systems administration experience with a High School diploma.

The Lab Technician requires proficiency and proven capability in the below areas:
Knowledge of Computer Network Defense (CND) policies, procedures, and regulations
Knowledge of defense-in-depth principles and network security architecture
Knowledge of database management and implementation
Knowledge of asset management practices and principles
Knowledge of hardware and software provisioning practices
Knowledge of boundary protection and enclaving
Knowledge of authentication and access management technologies
