This position is contingent upon contract award.
Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) is seeking a successful candidate to support its Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID) program’s Logistics Support Center (LSC) located in Huntsville, AL. Under general supervision of the program lead, candidate will use established process and procedures to manage the warehouse and transportation operations and ensure the on time flow of goods, services, and information from origin through delivery in order to meet customer requirements. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Manages, oversees and coordinates day-to-day warehousing activities.
- Supervises the activities of the warehouse floor operations, ensuring operations are productive, safe and accurate.
- Plans work schedules, assign tasks appropriately and appraises results
- Represents the organization in all internal/external meetings, conducts internal meetings with personnel to discuss current and upcoming mission requirements
- Manages the stock control processes and ensure reconciliation with the RAID Contractor Logistics Support (RCLS) and COLTS program management suite.
- Manages the security and maintenance of assigned warehouses and material handling equipment, e.g. fork lifts, trailers, pallet jacks, etc.
- Maintains and updates the Standard Operational Procedures as needed.
- Oversees property and inventory accountability and status updating of DPAS, RCLS and COLTS databases.
- Manages all aspects of transportation planning execution to include coordination with Transportation Management Office (TMO) for scheduling of transport and building Load Plans.
- Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as replenishment systems, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration, warehouse operations, supply functions, transportation operations, and related functions
- Complete inventories of all equipment, packaged items and rolling stock to be shipped.
- Select the appropriate packaging and shipping container(s) and materials for the items to be shipped.
- Complete all required documentation for shipping (i.e., DD Form 1149, Funds Verification & Use Authorization (FVUA), TAC, etc.), HAZMAT documentation and obtain Government authorization to ship.
- Manage and track shipments utilizing the RAID Contractor Logistics Support (RCLS) Database.
- Prepare applicable HAZMAT materials for shipment, to include Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all hazardous materials, and ensure each hazard is packed & prepared properly IAW applicable shipping regulations.
- Prepare, Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (AMC Form 1033), and determine handling/storage directions, disposal and provide regulatory references.
- Package, palletize and/or secure all equipment in accordance with transportation and shipping requirements to prevent excessive movement that could result in damage during transport.
- Operate vehicles to transport passengers, material or merchandise
- Manage Airfield Load-Out operations for aircraft loading.
- Fosters a positive work atmosphere promoting high performance and teamwork.
Required Skills:
- 6+ years of applicable logistics and/or transportation experience related to military or Government contract work.
- Ability to work under limited supervision with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to multi task, prioritize work, and be adaptive to change.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Must be fork lift certified or able to pass a certification test for the operation of a forklift.
- Experience with material control or freight management database systems.
- Able to operate manual material handling equipment, pallet jack, push carts, etc.
- Must be able to withstand physical demands of a warehouse environment: seasonal hot/cold temperatures, bending, squatting, lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds, and standing for long periods of time.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with the RAID Contractor Logistics Support (RCLS) Database
- Knowledge of RAID Tower system hardware and components
- Import/Export (EXIM) compliance experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP or Invoicing, Receipt, Acceptance and Property Transfer (iRAPT) (formally Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF))
- Working knowledge COLTS program management suite
- Experience with military transportation & logistics, MILAIR, USTRANSCOM, etc.
- Experience configuring military 463L pallets for MILAIR shipments, aircraft load team member.
- HAZMAT Dangerous Goods IATA and DOT certification.
- Flight line and air cargo loading and palletization experience.
- Familiarity with DOD logistic practices and forms, DD250, DD1348, DD1149, etc.
Required Education:
BA/BS related to this job description or equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor's Degree - 8 years of additional applicable experience).
