As a Sr. Hardware Quality Engineer, you will work within the Patriot BMC4I Integrated Product Team (IPT) representing the customers’ best interests, assuring product quality and effectiveness. The selected applicant will report to the BMC4I IPT Mission Assurance Lead and will be responsible for the interpretation of contractual requirements and the application of Quality sciences. Applicants should have a background in Quality Sciences.

This position requires strong interpersonal skills that will be used to present critical issues to leadership and influence cross functional groups. The selected candidate will drive business improvements using Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD), Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.

NOTE: This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Tasks include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Build and maintain beneficial relationships with IPT and functional peers
  • Drive critical issues to closure on a daily basis working with suppliers, customers, and other functional teams
  • Lead process improvements using RMD Six Sigma

Required Skills:

  • 4 years’ experience in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, OR related discipline
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action implementation
  • High computer literacy and proficiency with confidence and skill working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate technical data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Experienced in writing/approving/executing Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Able to write, interpret, and execute policies and procedures; recommends modifications to operating policies
  • Demonstrated ability to understand drawings, work instructions, Bills of Material (BOMs), process disciplines
  • Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Bias for Action, Doing, Speed, Results, Execution
  • Metrics driven and success oriented

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree (ME, EE, IE, or equivalent degree)
