Job Description:

The Microelectronics Engineering & Technology (MET) department designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter / microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications. As a Senior Test Engineer I in the Engineering Test group of the MET department, the candidate will be responsible for supporting design engineers and project leads by performing the measurement and characterization of next generation microwave and millimeter wave semiconductor devices and circuits in GaN, GaAs, and Silicon technologies. An understanding of RF measurements and device characterization calibration techniques is a must for this position.

In this role, responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

  • Perform first article tests of new circuits and devices.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and calibrated.
  • Build, verify and maintain test benches for a variety of measurements
  • Support Senior Design Engineers in testing and troubleshooting of new technology.
  • Analyze and plot data to verify accuracy and present data to engineers.
  • Support Reliability and Modeling with DC and RF measurements.
  • Test classified circuits.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 4 years of test experience with microwave devices, circuits or modules
  • Experience with microwave and Millimeter wave test equipment such as Network analyzers (for example Keysight PNA-X), Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Figure Analyzers, Maury Load-pull systems, RF sources, probe stations, and meters.
  • Experience with various measurement methods such as static & pulsed I-V, break down, RS/RD, CW & pulsed bias S-Parameter, load/source-pull, TOI, CW and Pulsed Power, noise figure, and noise parameters
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics concepts
  • Demonstrated understanding of semiconductor device characterization techniques and equipment
  • Hands-on experience with high power test equipment
  • Ability to independently solve problems
  • Candidate should be proficient with LabVIEW or test lab software.
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Statistical and data analysis background
  • Software Experience- EXCEL, PSPICE, and ADS.

Required Education (including Major):

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent, and 3+ years of related experience
  • MS in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
