We invite you to join Raytheon Intelligence & Space as a Space Vehicle Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for our programs and pursuits. This position supports the Civil, Commercial, and International product lines.

We are looking for a Space Vehicle Sr. Principal Systems Engineer who brings space vehicle system leadership and engineering knowledge to our EO/IR Weather System (EWS) program. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and/ or knowledge in all aspects of the Space Vehicle and Bus including Integration & Test, Command & Data Handling, Electronic Power Subsystem, Propulsion System, Interface Management, and Launch Systems Integration. The Space Vehicle Sr. Principal Systems engineer will perform at a high operational tempo and demonstrate an ability to react quickly to changes in both the plan and/or priorities while maintaining execution rigor that is appropriate to a production environment. The role will also be a strategic position requiring daily contact with multiple organizations as well as customer counterparts.

Responsibilities include providing technical direction to the bus and communication supplier, communicating changes and issues with the EWS Mission System Engineering team, and development/management of the integration, test, and logistics needed to integrate the space vehicle and transport it to the launch site.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years working space vehicle and/or bus systems engineering
  • Experience with multi-functional and cross-site teams
  • Demonstrated strong organization, coordination, planning, and team building skills
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship status
  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance as of Day 1 of employment

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with launch systems integration
  • Experience with requirements analysis, capture, flow down and verification
  • Experience managing system budgets (Mass, Power, etc)
  • Experience with project management

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline (preferably Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Software Engineering)
