Job Description:

The Secure Information Systems organization requires a Principal Electrical Engineer to work a number of fast-paced developments of programmable cryptographic systems. The successful candidate will perform tasks of moderate scope within the implementation/verification and test portions of the ASIC or FPGA development flow under general direction with considerable discretion as to work details. These tasks require HDL (Hardware Description Language) design entry in VHDL or Verilog format, functional RTL level simulation, logic synthesis, static timing analysis, system-level simulation, test vector generation, prototype verification, design verification test, security verification test, documentation, trade-off analysis, resource/tool/equipment identification, schedule development, architecture definition and ASIC specification.

Requires review of applicable documents for information. Requires reporting of work results in a predefined format. Requires preparation of requirements, simulation, test plan and test report in a predefined format.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support a multi-disciplined team of engineers developing programmable cryptographic modules and systems
  • Provide the technical interface to the customer as well as leadership to the engineering team on the programs
  • Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure programs are planned, staffed, and executed to plan
  • Support all major project milestone reviews
  • Provide oversight for the technical, cost and schedule performance of Systems engineering for the development effort
  • Create system level requirements and architecture, security design and certification documents
  • Ensure the integrity of all engineering products, drawings, plans and specifications, requirements allocation products, system architecture, design analyses, and interface descriptions
  • Support problem investigation/corrective action teams

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years of related experience
  • 3-5 years of applicable ASIC development experience
  • Knowledge of theory and practice in some areas within the professional field
  • Well-regarded within the organization for beginning contributions to project success and potential future growth. Efficient time management to support multiple projects concurrently
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship is a requirement

Desired Skills:

  • Current or prior experience in cryptographic products and designs and certification processes
  • First-hand experience in the development of embedded ARM processors
  • Experience with Agile work behaviors
  • Team work and communication skills
  • Ability to apply theory and practice under close supervision for project success, quickly learn new areas

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, other related discipline or equivalent experience

This position requires either a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
