Raytheon Technologies Intelligence and Space (RI&S) has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Writer. The successful candidate supports a team of database and software developers that design, develop, test, tune, implement, and maintain a United States Army web-based application.

The candidate researches, edits, writes, and/or rewrites technical manuals, documentation, training material, instructions, progress reports, and other materials as required. The candidate must be able to create material that is clear, informative and effective for presentation to a range of internal and external audiences. Interprets and administers documentation/ communication policies and procedures. Advises team members in matters of style, syntax, and usage to improve the general quality and effectiveness of communications. Exercises quality control over documents intended for distribution.

The desired candidate is a self-starter, able to operate with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years related experience
  • Experience writing and/or editing technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements
  • Experience developing outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations
  • Experience researching and gathering technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables
  • Experience consulting relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience with FLARE
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and follow documentation and communication policies and procedures

Desired Qualifications:

  • Well organized and able to prioritize task efforts
  • Experience working within a team environment as well as working independently with minimal supervision

Required Education:

  • Applicants must have a minimum 4 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree

This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
