Raytheon Technologies Facilities & Real Estate has an opening for a Facilities Construction Estimator in Tucson, AZ. This role is to assist in preparing cost estimates for projects with Facilities scope of work. This includes an analysis of statement of work requirements, selection of appropriate estimating methodologies, substantiation of estimates/pricing quotes, development of data driven estimating relationships, obtaining reviews and approvals of submissions from various Government and Non-Government stakeholders.
Job Description:
- Provide both ROM’s and high level estimates as well as the final detailed estimate (using RSMeans data)
- Assist during the preparation of financial Appropriation Requests (ARs); offering value engineering when required
- Review the project request and requirements, provide guidance and recommendations identifying risks/opportunities, which may include other options, phasing or alternative concepts as required
- Suggest improvement to the consumer regarding timing, materials, layout, construction methods, cost, building code implications, related projects, etc.
- Maintain an estimating database (RSMeans Estimating Guides, historical data, outside quotes/references) and compare baseline estimates to project actuals for continuous improvements of estimates
Required Skills:
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant construction cost estimating (large scale in the multimillion dollar range) or project management experience and a Bachelor’s Degree
- Overall understanding of construction methods related to Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Security and Industrial elements
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications and a working knowledge in CAD (Microstation or AutoCAD)
- Excel, formula and macro proficient
- Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills
- This position requires the eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
Desired Skills:
- Formal training in estimating (RSMeans or other)
- Experience and training in OSHA Construction Industry regulations and practices
- Knowledge of security construction requirements
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or an Architectural degree or related discipline
