Job Description:

Raytheon Technologies Intelligence and Space business unit is seeking a highly motivated, Digital Design FPGA Engineer to work on Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF) products for defense applications. The position will be located in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.

The candidate is responsible for developing FPGA level requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, implementing VHDL design, performing VHDL or System Verilog simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and testing of the FPGA in a laboratory setting. He/she will be familiar with latest technology trend in the area of FPGA VHDL design, VHDL or System Verilog verification, microprocessor, memory, and interface protocols. The candidate will work in the product development team environment with system, mechanical, and software engineers. This position may require occasional business related travel.

Required Skills:

  • Basic/fundamental electrical/electronic engineering classes in circuit theory/analysis in radio frequency (RF), power, and/or analog/digital design
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders
  • Experience with MS Office tool suite
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in a lab environment with standard EE lab equipment (i.e., Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, signal sources)
  • Designing for Defense Electronics
  • Active or Recent Security Clearance
  • Knowledge of C, TCL, or Python for Scripting
  • Leadership experience
  • Digital Signal Processing
  • FPGA Development with Linux Operating System

Required Education (including Major):

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
