Role Overview

This position is for an experienced Security Services professional. Processes and maintains security information, data, and documents. Responsible for investigation of security violations resulting recommendations for preventive actions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, documents, implements. and monitors the Information System (IS) Security Program. System Security Plans (SSP) and related procedures for the facility.
  • Authors and maintains documentation supporting the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) of assigned systems in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Performs security control assessments as part of the Continuous Monitoring Plan.
  • Oversees configuration management of assigned systems and validates audits are performed by the ISSO to ensure the security posture integrity.
  • Conducts periodic hardware and software inventory assessments. Identifies system security control shortcomings and serves as lead for remediating deficiencies.
  • Investigates security incidents such as data spills. data integrity and malicious events.
  • Provides security education training to employees.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and less than 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance (Requires US Citizenship)
  • A working knowledge of the NISPOM and DAAPM
  • Must be able to obtain RMF Training as specified in the Defense Security Service Assessment and Authorization Process Manual

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related discipline preferred 
  • Current secret level clearance is preferred
  • Current CompTIA Security+ Certification preferred
  • Experience in Information Technology, preferably in an Information Security role in a classified environment. Including 
  • Knowledge of information systems security components and best practices including: firewalls, intrusion detection systems. anti-virus software. data encryption. and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
  • Ability to validate system security controls on multiple Operating Systems (OS). UNIX, Linux. and Windows for both stand-alone and network configurations.
  • Experience with Windows server and VMware.
  • Working knowledge of security configuration requirements for individual applications (i.e. Microsoft Office, Web Browsers, Network Devices, etc.).
  • Knowledge of related utilities and hardware. Server hardware and switches, storage management and TCP/IP, network monitoring and tools
