Tactical Program Director

Raytheon Intelligence & Space's Vision Systems (RVS) is seeking a Program Director to lead the Tactical Product Line. This role has overall responsibility for executing and strategically growing RVS’s portfolio of tactical EO/IR programs. The Tactical Director will manage a broad and complex portfolio of large and small sized programs for internal and external customers in all phases of execution including development, transition to production, full rate production, and sustainment. The position leads a team of program managers and is accountable for meeting performance and financials goals, directing program management of assigned programs, and collaborating on customer requirements. Further, the Director is responsible for developing and executing a growth strategy for the product line that not only positions it for future growth and success, but also aligns itself with the strategies and technology roadmaps of the broader RVS organization. Successful candidates will have the ability to drive performance and growth in a complex critical business. This individual will be a key player on the RVS Leadership Team and will serve as a change agent driving RVS improvement to support the growing importance of RVS to the overall Raytheon Technologies business.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Accountable to the business for the flawless execution of assigned programs to deliver solutions within cost and schedule to demanding customers.
  • Responsible for achieving the organizational performance metrics for assigned programs including
  • Responsible for establishing the trust and confidence of assigned customers and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains product roadmaps to include capture strategies aligned to RVS technology roadmaps.
  • Responsible for effectively leading a team of program managers and collaborating with the RVS Leadership Team to drive organizational improvement and business results.

Required Skills:

  • 14+ combined years of professional work experience, with relevant experience in Program Management, Engineering leadership, Operations leadership, and/or Capture Management
  • Progressive program management/ leadership experience with development, production and/or sustainment programs and a demonstrated track executing dynamic programs while meeting cost and schedule targets
  • Proven experience in capturing new business/program(s), proposals, and customer engagement
  • Strong background and experience in program management techniques (full Profit & Loss responsibilities), working in a matrixed environment
  • Proven demonstration of leadership competencies, especially influential communications, strategic thinking, cultivating innovation, collaboration, developing talent, customer focus, and driving results
  • Ability to obtain Program Management Certification within 6 months of assignment
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is required

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Raytheon Intelligence and Space products and technologies to include EO/IR Systems
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office and Project tools

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related discipline

Desired Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Math, Science or related discipline
