The Whole Life Engineering Directorate is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user by proactively seeking and applying innovative, customer focused solutions for Whole Life Engineering from concept to disposal for new and legacy, domestic and international programs. We are a multi-disciplined customer focused team, flexibly structured to provide best value life cycle management, system support and innovative market solutions.

The Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) Engineer ensures performance compliance of both customer and internal requirements.

In this role you’ll provide RAM consultation and required analyses by conducting the following tasks in order to influence product reliability:

Developing innovative technical solutions to unusually complex reliability problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity with little to no supervision. Performing internal and external supplier interface to resolve reliability issues. Representing Raytheon Company at customer meetings as applicable. Providing proposal support.Performing reliability analyses as applicable, including:

  • Conducting data and trending analyses
  • Performing RAM trade-off analyses
  • Assessing RAM performance (MTBF, MTBCF, Ao)
  • Defining/allocating RAM requirements
  • Performing Reliability Predictions
  • Performing Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Supporting Reliability Test Planning and Execution (Accelerated, Growth, Demonstration

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years’ engineering experience
  • Experience with reliability, availability and/or maintainability engineering
  • Experience in gathering, analyzing and presenting data from a variety of sources
  • Experience working on and leading large teams
  • Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and inter-personal skills to achieve technical objectives
  • Experience in technical document and report generation
  • Experience assessing RAM performance of fielded equipment.
  • Eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a cross functional team environment
  • Experience in interpreting circuits and engineering drawings
  • Certification in the area of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and its implementation.
  • Experience using Windchill Quality Solutions suite of tools.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proactive and effective in addressing reliability issues with the program design and support teams
  • Working knowledge across multiple support engineering disciplines

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline
