Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) in Goleta California is seeking a process engineer to support various Dewar assembly manufacturing processes within the Vision Systems Manufacturing Center. We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to support the existing manufacturing packaging processes for Visible and IR camera systems. The successful candidate will be able to improve industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data analytics and make data driven decisions toward process development and improvement assignments.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing, configuring and optimizing dewar packaging processes from inspection to production readiness certification
  • Characterizing processes capability, monitoring process inputs and perato process defects.
  • Designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes
  • Establish and sustain process SPC
  • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
  • Manage cost and time constraints
  • Provide process documentation and operating instructions
  • Mentor and train production operation staff on process control requirements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4+ years’ related, professional experience along with a STEM Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven work experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineer function.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical software packages such as JMP, or Minitab
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Defense and Aerospace production environments
  • Familiarity with Class 5 cleanroom and contamination control
  • Experience with one or more of the following; wirebonding, precision alignment of camera systems, vacuum and accelerated life testing, vacuum soldering, adhesives and adhesives dispense.
  • Automated assembly process development and control.

Required Education

Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering, science, technology or math discipline or higher.
