Our engineers are creating new possibilities in space.” Raytheon Technologies Space Systems is currently in need for a Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the Next Generation Interceptor program. The SEIT IPT Lead is responsible for ensuring the assigned team’s objectives are achieved on schedule, within budget, and consistent with quality and technical standards. The SEIT IPT lead oversees execution on all aspects of the systems engineering, integration and test team’s work products. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership, control account ownership, guidance, and direct interfacing with internal and external customers. The SEIT IPTL’s responsibilities include the overall technical execution of the systems engineering, integration, test, IV&V functions, and communication and interface with program leadership. The candidate will be responsible for cost and schedule, task management, staffing coordination, variance analysis and earned value reporting, and risks & opportunities. Additionally, the SEIT IPTL will supervise systems engineering, system requirements, system testing, updating of test procedures, and generation of sell-off reports. He/She will also support technical solution characterization, in addition to leading design reviews, gate reviews, test readiness reviews, trade studies and other required reviews. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to work in a high paced, high demand program environment, and to manage SEIT resources (including staff, facilities, and equipment) efficiently. Finally, the candidate must also successfully interface with the Product Area Chief Engineer and lead the management of subcontractors.
Responsibilities of the SEIT IPTL include:
- Establishes thorough plan of execution to accomplish scope of work
- Works with the Program Manager and Chief Engineer to establish program organization, schedule (IMS) and milestones
- Responsible for total ownership of the day-to-day operation of the multidisciplinary/cross-functional team, ensuring the associated products are developed and delivered within the allotted cost, schedule, technical quality and performance parameters
- Supports tailoring of systems engineering processes commensurate with programs cost/schedule
- Works with Chief Engineer to ensure contract requirements satisfaction
- Coordinates with Control Account Managers (CAM) to provide detailed task description, budget and schedule requirements to each functional organization directly supporting the SEIT Team and tracks task status to closure
- Ensures early identification, communication and mitigation of technical, cost and/or schedule risks for all aspects of the Team’s product scope
- Approves engineering products/deliverables: plans, requirements, designs, reviews, CDRLs
- Oversees the technical budget (KPP, TPM) at the product level
- Supports teammates and sub-contractors trades-studies and analysis and assists in make/buy decisions
- Execute the integrated I&T product up to and including delivery to the customer and post-delivery support.
- Participate in program readiness and design reviews
- Ensure product integrity, system performance, and system functionality.
- Review all engineering inputs to gates and independent reviews.
- Coordinate, write, and deliver technical presentations to both internal and external customers
Required Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Integration & Test
- Knowledge of Missile Systems
- Experience with missile systems sensor suite development
- Knowledge of space-based imaging and communication systems
- Experience in cost/schedule development and management (EVMS)
- Experience in deploying a rigorous Integrated Product Development Process
- Experience in risk and opportunity analysis, tracking and mitigation
- Capable of effectively working in a team environment, often under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership experience in systems engineering processes, including requirements definition, design, test planning, test execution, data analysis, and operations support
- Demonstrated engineering leadership experience and proven track record.
- Must have excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), with prior experience in dealing with customers, management, technical staff, and internal / external organizations.
- Experience leading teams and IPT’s, using tools and metrics in managing activities, and interfacing with senior program and functional management
- Active TS clearance
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

- Experience with EO/IR and RF Comm. testing.
- Ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary teams
- Solid understanding of test methodologies, system architectures, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in transitioning large development programs into production
- Proposal support experience including writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
- Experience in supporting major competitive government proposals
- Experience as an IPTL, CAM, LSE or CE on previous programs
- Knowledge of the Raytheon gate review process
- Experience in managing subcontractors
- Experience with creating and maintaining a technical baseline
- Familiarity with requirements management tool such as DOORS
- Experience in programming with MATLAB/Simulink
Required Education:
BS/BA in Engineering, Sciences, or Mathematics or related STEM discipline
Desired Education:
MS/MA in Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, or Management or related STEM discipline
