PLUMBER/PIPEFITTER/SPRINKLER FITTER

2nd Shift - 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Maintains, repairs, and installs various plumbing, heating, fluid distribution, and mechanical systems associated with manufacturing process and customer support in various IDS Massachusetts properties. Works from engineering drawings, sketches, and or verbal direction. Performs all aspects of plumbing and mechanical assembly, layout, installation, and repairs as well as general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools and equipment at a Journeyman level compliant with applicable State code and specifications within a complex building system and its components.

Working under the general direction of a Shop Foreperson able to perform tasks with minimal supervision. Travel to different Facilities with in Massachusetts to perform plumbing related duties

Required Skills:

  • MA. Journeyman Plumbers License
  • Minimum 5 yrs. plumbing experience
  • Must have experience practicing with license
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills:

  • Licensed Sprinkler fitter
  • Licensed Pipe fitter
  • OSHA safety certificate
  • Working knowledge of heating and fluid distribution systems
  • Working knowledge of Fire Protection Systems Ma. Sprinkler fitter license preferred
  • Working knowledge of various pipe joining methods to include but not limited to Victaulic couple and groove, Mega press, pro press, threaded pipe, solvent weld, brazing and soldiering.
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Works well with others
  • Proven History of reliable and dependable work habits
  • Reliable transportation for alternate center assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively, read and interpret safety procedures.
  • Trade School experience

Required Education (including Major):

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

This position will be covered by a collective bargaining agreement. Wage and work place conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement. Individuals hired into this position will be represented by a union.
