Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Principle Systems Engineer with experience in the area of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging, with an emphasis on how to configure a payload/sensor to perform SAR imaging and/or moving target indication (MTI) collection. You are expected to participate in the entire life cycle of related projects, including concept definition, algorithm development, design reviews, integration and test, and operational support. In this role you will ultimately be a recognized as the expert by our customers and be frequently called upon to help solve emerging technical problems. The ideal candidate will have the subject matter expertise to perform detailed SAR payload and ground implementation engineering, and communication and interpersonal skills to represent and explain this design to our customers and co-contractors. Individuals lacking current detailed subject matter expertise but with appropriate technical background and a demonstrated ability to learn new, complex subjects quickly will also be considered for this position.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years demonstrated engineering experience with proven track record
  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • Understanding of the SE lifecycle and change management process
  • Experience with requirements analysis/management
  • Experience in functional decomposition, interface analysis and definition
  • Proven ability to meet timelines
  • Experience in systems engineering functions including: operations concept development, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control
  • Knowledge of component level integration and test
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Existing TS SCI clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics with a radar emphasis or 5+ years in a RADAR system design role preferred
  • Experience in an Agile or DevOps development environment
  • Experience with satellite data processing and operations domain preferred

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or related STEM degree program from an Accredited University/School/College with 8+ years of relevant work experience

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
