The WPB MRO business unit in West Palm Beach, FL is looking for a first shift Clean Line Cell Leader. This business unit services the PW1100G GTF, as well as radial APU’s for both commercial and military customers around the world. The MRO Clean Line also provides cleaning and NDT services to the other organizations across the WPB campus.

The candidate for this role will need to have strong technical skills, as they will have to develop a firm knowledge of all cleaning and NDT procedures performed by this department, as well as an understanding of the equipment used by the department. Currently, this includes the Clean Line, FPI Line, Bearing Clean Line, Wash Bay, Waste Water Treatment, MPI booth, and Media Blast. The candidate will also need to have dynamic shop floor management skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with many departments at various levels. They will be responsible for the personnel, scheduling of work, equipment maintenance, and capability of the area.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Clean Line and drive production to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Champion the safety of area personnel
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, regulations, and training requirements are met
  • Coordinate with the MRO QA organization to ensure all regulatory requirements are met for area processes (i.e. chemical adds, stock loss checks, water quality, record keeping, etc)
  • Ensure all area equipment is functioning to specification and that needed TPM is in place; coordinate with the WPB PEG group on equipment maintenance needs, ensure impact to schedule and cost is minimized; ensure area capability meets site needs, adjusting processes and capacity appropriately
  • Maintain a constant understanding of the parts delivered to the area and the schedule of the part owners; coordinate with the various owners to ensure parts are processed in the most efficient manner to meet schedule requirements
  • Assign work to area personnel so that they remain engaged with the most appropriate tasks to meet schedule targets
  • Obtain necessary resources effectively to meet both short-term and long-term goals; to include equipment, tooling, manpower, technical data, etc.
  • Work with functional leaders across the site and internal staff to meet production requirements
  • Manage time and attendance for the hourly workforce; resolve compensation matters
  • Develop talent and provide performance feedback to all shop floor employees

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in production, operations, or manufacturing
  • 1 year of indirect/direct leadership or management experience
  • A U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Management, Business, Engineering, or Quality
  • An understanding of P&W Clean Line and NDT Service Process Operation Procedures (SPOP)
  • Experience directing skilled bargaining unit employees
  • Aerospace repair and/or manufacturing experience
  • Experience in / knowledge of FAR 145 or FAR 121 operations and requirements
  • Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve business goals
  • Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, including internal and external customers across all hierarchy levels and drive resolution in the shortest time possible
  • Confident making decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data while processing multiple problems in parallel; effective at handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Be self-motivated, capable of sound decision-making, and able to drive matters to closure
  • Computer proficient, particularly in MS Office
  • Experience working with SAP
