Are you interested in joining a community of diverse, dynamic, professional engineers? The Patriot Modernization Department is seeking a hardware/software engineer to provide support in the Patriot Software Test Facility (PSTF). The PSTF facility is used for the development and maintenance of Patriot tactical and non-tactical software products.

The successful candidate will help support the installation and integration of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) hardware/software.

The candidate will be involved in the development of customized hardware in support of integrating GFE and COTS in a complex lab environment with multiple product configuration baselines.

You will be required to perform user support for a dynamic team of over 450 users consisting of hardware, software and systems engineers along with IT and Security professionals.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Installation, integration, maintenance and repair of Patriot test string equipment.
  • Coordination with logistics engineering to ensure the latest configurations of GFE hardware is used in the Patriot labs as well as coordinating the shipment of hardware for repairs.
  • Coordination with Test Equipment Maintenance and Repair department to ensure lab test equipment is calibrated.

This position can be a Salary Grade G07 or G08 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as within one year of employment

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineer
  • Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with modern operating systems including, but not limited to, Windows, Linux and Solaris
  • US. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Flexibility to work across multiple shifts as needed, to support system maintenance
  • Support in the design prototype components of a functional system to develop and improve test automation products
  • Possess strong integration, troubleshooting and diagnostic skill
  • Familiar with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to troubleshoot equipment failures
  • Familiar with Patriot tactical and non-tactical equipment
  • Experience with user support in a development facility environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
