We are seeking a Senior Principal Technical Support Engineer to join our Seapower and Electronic Systems Department team supporting Navy and Patriot programs at our Seapower Capabilities Center in Portsmouth, RI.
The successful candidate must be capable of solving technical problems in the area of analog, digital, mixed signal, configurable logic or power design. The desired candidate would possess multi-disciplined expertise in two or more of these areas.
Responsibilities will include: requirements analysis and decomposition, sub-system and circuit design, modeling, simulation and design verification test. The candidate will work with other experienced hardware engineers and will have strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.
Required Skills:
- Design major CCAs, modules and major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Occasional Travel to supplier, integration and customer sites
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
- Bachelor's + 10 years, Associates + 14 years, or 18 years’ experience in lieu of a degree

- Providing the interface with On-Site personnel, customers, and suppliers
- Utilize computer application tools, develops preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
- Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of components and materials, interchangeability, size-weight-power attributes to contractual specification requirements and cost.
- Coordinates the dependencies of the design with other engineering disciplines plus procurement and quality organizations affected by product development.
- Reviews completed design drawings and documents for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and adherence to component de-rating guidelines.
- Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements to the product development team.
- A high degree of mathematical ability and computer literacy Proven customer relations experience
