An experienced ForeScout Network Security Engineer is needed to join the security team of a major nationwide organization, with thousands of sites, to continually improve its complex multi-protocol nationwide networks.
The ideal candidate for this job understands how the Hardware / Software Asset Management program of a large enterprise should work is needed to support the team. The ideal candidate for this job will be a goal-oriented, customer focused information security practitioner who possess the ability to apply technical solutions to business requirements to assist the organization in achieving business, technical, and security related goals.
The position is located in Falls Church, VA.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Represent CISO Cybersecurity Engineering while supporting another organization working directly with their engineering teams and taking daily tasking assignments from the engineering organization managers
- Validate every security policy push done in the Forescout across the Mail Processing Environment (MPE) network.
- Prepare several daily reports such as unclassified assets, rogue device blocking, USB blocking, network traffic, secure connector tracking and installation across all MPE sites.
- Notify to systems’ owners if issue arises during the policy push and work with Engineering to troubleshoot the issue either thru Splunk or checking previous log to find the discrepancy.
- Create, update and maintain the SOPs documentation
- Work closely with systems’ owners and propose recommendations based on the security best practices.
- Help and maintain inventory of all assets deployed across the MPE network after ForeScout installation including the ForeScout servers.
- Engage with stakeholders, systems’ owners and management to promote and explain the MPNACS program across the MPE
- Assist the MPNACS team to fine-tuning the security policies implemented in ForeScout and propose new ones
- 4+ years related experience
Required Skills:
- Knowledge and Experience using ForeScout CounterACT
- A very good understanding of network and information security including TCP/IP and communication protocols
- Understanding all layers of OSI model, IP routing and switching
- Knowledge of Splunk including extracting reports via queries, creating and understanding dashboards
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Visio and MS Word
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, with team and over the phone across multiple mail processing sites
- Able to assist the network engineering to do testing and other tasks
Desired Skills:
- Excellent writing skills - including writing reports, SOP’s and emails
- Project planning experience
- Microsoft office suite of applications
Certifications desired (one or more):
- DOD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level II, ForeScout FSCE, ForeScout FSCA, Comptia Net+, CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), CCNA
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field. In lieu of degree, two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.
