Job Responsibilities
- Significant domain knowledge and knowledge of products and systems in assigned portfolio (e.g. avionics products)
- May be considered a specialist or a generalist in more than one domain and/or area of expertise
- Capture, analyze, decompose, translate and create requirements for hardware systems of moderate to high complexity
- Refine functional, interface and performance specifications for hardware implementation
- Identify and document architecturally significant requirements and technical risk areas
- Serve as the hardware subject matter expert during internal design and customer reviews
- Assure that development products are designed to meet the applicable requirements
- Significant knowledge of industry practices and standards
- Aware of emerging industry trends relative to new board technologies and microchips
- Capable of leading teams in the design, test, analysis, integration, qualification and documentation of hardware of high complexity
- Apply and tailor internal processes, using knowledge of methods and tools for hardware development and documentation efforts
- Estimate, track, own and report status relating to technical, cost, schedule, design-to-cost and risk performance for assigned scope of work
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical - , Communications - , Aerospace - and Astronautics Engineering or comparable studies
- Experience in development of complex electronic systems
- Development of complex digital computer hardware: Definition of requirement specifications, component selection, circuit design and schematic entry, commissioning, verification and documentation
- Knowledge about common aeronautical (i.e RTCA DO-254)
- Knowledge of EMI and Signal Integrity Design techniques
- HW - integration and testing on equipment level
- Tool-Knowledge: DOORS, Schematic capture tools (e.g. DX Designer), JIRA
- Knowledge of interfaces typically used on airborne equipment (e.g PCI Express, GBit Ethernet, VPX_
- Practical experience using usual lab test equipment
- Good communication skills
- Good command of the English language in speech and writing with a degree of B2 at a minimum according to GER/CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
